The Black Hills State University softball team inked Cassie Smith as the first recruit for the 2011-2012 season. Smith, a senior at Pine Creek High School in Colorado Springs, Colo. has earned four varsity letters as well all-conference honors.

Black Hills State University Head Men’s Basketball Coach Bradd Schafer announced today the signing of Joey Mitchell for the 2011-12 basketball season. Mitchell, from Hitchcock-Tulare High School, is currently entering his senior year after leading his football and basketball teams to the S.D. state championship game as a junior.
