Black Hills State University Track & Field Competes at Chadron State Twilight Meet
Chadron, S.D. – The Black Hills State University track and field team competed Friday, February 3 at the Chadron State Twilight Meet. The Yellow Jackets had a successful meet with three first place finishers.
The Black Hills State women had two first place finishers. Courtney Gross was the top finisher in the 800 meter run with a final time of 2:28.20. The second and final top finisher for the Black Hills State women came from Tavia Loberg who won the won the women's long jump with a leap of 13 feet eight and a half inches. Loberg also placed third in the 55 meter dash followed by teammate Aleshia Giesey who finished fourth. Giesey also finished fourth in the 200 meter dash.
The Yellow Jacket men were led Jacob Wilson who won was the top finisher in the men's high jump with a jump of six feet even. Black Hills State runners Evan Strand and Brock Mickelson finished second and third respectively in the men's 800 meter run. Black Hills State runner Trev Fielder finished in third place in the mile run.
Black Hills State will return to the track on Saturday, February 11 as they host the Rock and Jock Indoor Open at the Donald E. Young Center in Spearfish.
