Women’s Golf First After First Leg Of BHSU/CSC/SDM&T Triangular
Rapid City, S.D. – The Black Hills State University women's golf team posted a score of 174 to lead the Black Hills State/Chadron State/S.D. School of Mines Triangular after the first day.
The rain shortened the tournament to only nine holes. The Yellow Jackets were led by freshman Amanda Johnson who posted a 42 and was second individually. Brandi Holmes shot a 43 and was third overall. Tiera Feller and Jenessa Rantapaa also finished in the top ten. Feller tied for fourth place with a core of 44 and Rantapaa was sixth with a score of 45. McKenzie Watson rounded out the team scoring finishing 16th with a score of 52.
Black Hills State had three other student-athletes compete in the event as individuals. Kaydee Good shot a 49 and finished tied for ninth place. Erin Jarvis tied for 14th place with a 51 and Haley Davenport finished 17th after shooting a 53. Michele Hoistad was the only other Yellow Jacket to compete shooting a 58 to tie for 19th place.
Black Hills State will travel to Chadron, Neb. and host a tournament in the spring that will complete the triangular event.
