Hall of Fame
graduated in 1965 with a Bachelor of Science degree in physical education. Houska has been coaching for 37 years, the last 26 years of which have been spent at Rapid City Central High School. During his tenure at Central, his teams have won the state cross country or track championships 18 times and finished second 10 times. He was named the boy's cross country coach of the year in 1985 and again in 1990. He was also recognized as Girl's Track Coach of the Year in 1991 and Boy's Track Coach of the Year in 1997. In 1996 Houska was inducted into the South Dakota Hall of Fame.
